Acer Group Unveils Impressive Models at Global Press Conference
The one who knows what the buyer needs now sells well. And the one who knows what the customer will need tomorrow is the best seller. Watching the presentations of computer novelties from Acer, you never get tired of being amazed at how the company’s developers guess (or create?) Trends. For example, the predatory Predator series of gaming devices is riding the rising tide of sports. Swift lightweight Ultrabook’s have anticipated the global travel boom. The sophisticated design of the Concept line for creative people is a response to the growth of the creative industry.
Not surprisingly, every Acer global press conference is eagerly awaited by fans and competitors alike. What idea can you make money on in the near future?
Mission is to save the Earth
But this time, at an online presentation held on May 27, Acer presented not a new device or brand, but a whole direction – Acer Earth ion. “Our mission is to solve the environmental problems of our generation with integrated innovative solutions,” the company says.
Of course, Acer is far from preoccupied with environmental issues today. In 2012, Acer began setting targets to reduce carbon emissions through energy management and green energy, and by 2020, 44% of its energy use comes from renewable sources.
In 2017, the Acer group initiated the Humanity project, encouraging its employees and partners around the world through their professional activities to have a positive impact on the environment, beyond the established rules and guidelines. As a result, by 2021, Acer employees from more than 40 countries of the world have initiated more than 60 environmental education projects.
Acer has now announced that it wants to help create a greener future through innovative solutions. How exactly?
First, by joining the RE100 initiative (an international initiative of influential global companies to 100% switch to electricity from renewable sources by 2035 – F).
Moving to 100% renewable electricity by 2035, Acer will join more than 300 of the world’s leading companies, said Sam Kimm ins, head of climate group RE100. example “.
Secondly, through the Earth ion project, which, in addition to using green energy, also focuses on: designing devices with green innovation; packaging design that uses less material, mostly recycled; minimizing the impact on the environment during production; reduction of carbon dioxide emissions during transportation.
The physical embodiment of all these ideas is the Aspire Vero laptop, the first Acer product to be powered by the Earthion platform. The body of the device and keyboard are made from recycled household plastic, the packaging is 80-85% recycled paper pulp, and the laptop bag and sheet between the keyboard and screen are 100% recycled industrial plastic. Not only that, all of the graphics on the shipping box are printed with soy ink and the laptop itself is paint-free to help reduce our environmental impact.
That said, the Aspire Vero’s specs are, as always, Acer’s, with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics and up to 1TB M.2 SSD. The tilt-and-pivot design lifts the bottom of the laptop when opened for easy typing, while AI noise cancellation keeps everyday video calls clear.
Typically, designers need to do several drawings at different angles to get the correct proportions for the picture. Computers have improved this process, but judging 3D aspect ratio on a 2D screen is still tricky. Clearer visualization will speed up the search for inaccuracies, ensure that the project is in line with the concept and save money on printing.
It goes without saying that Acer has updated all Concept lines for the launch, including 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors, NVIDIA RTX GPUs for professional notebooks and 16-inch displays.
For example, the RTX A5000 laptop GPU in the Concept 5 Pro enables ray tracing and artificial intelligence for the most ambitious rendering, 8K editing, and multi-application workloads.
The Predator novelties also received rave reviews from gamers right during the presentation: a huge CG437K monitor with a 144 Hz refresh rate, with an HDMI 2.1 PS5 / Xbox Series X connection; the Triton 500 SE, a millennial laptop with up to 12 hours of battery life, and the Predator Helios 500, with RGB lighting that illuminates with every press.
Well, in conclusion – good news for Kazakhstanis, who have very popular Swift series laptops. By the way, in Kazakhstan, Acer laptops are generally market leaders, in 2020 their share was almost 30%, in price terms – 28%. Only 70 thousand laptops were sent to schools, according to the vice-president of ACER REET (Russia, Eastern Europe, Turkey) Grigori Nizovsky, and in 2021 it is planned to deliver another 100 thousand new devices – Chromebooks.
