Lenovo introduced the ThinkPad L490 and L590 business notebooks to the Russian market. They are aimed at large enterprise customers as they support Intel vapor technology and the classic ThinkPad Basic / Pro / Ultra Docking station CS18. At the same time, the L series is affordable and is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses for which these functions are important.
The new items are built on the eighth generation Intel Core Whiskey Lake processor and are equipped with a discrete AMD Radeon 535 graphics card or an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 solution. For the first time in the ThinkPad L-series business notebooks, configurations with 64 GB of RAM are available: for this, two SO-DIMM slots are used (two modules of 32 GB are installed) – so even the most resource-intensive applications quickly open on laptops.
The ThinkPad L490 is available in a touchscreen configuration.

Staying connected is easy with dual-band Wi-Fi AC (2×2), Bluetooth 4.2 and optional LTE-A. You can work with L Series laptops from anywhere without being confined to the walls of your home or office. In addition, the devices support the NFC standard for fast connection with other devices.
Data security is a hot issue for any business today. Owner identification is carried out in two ways: using a fingerprint sensor or an infrared camera. These methods allow you to log in quickly and securely using advanced biometric technologies and Windows Hello facial recognition. And the Think shutter has become more invisible compared to previous versions and now covers not only the webcam, but also the IR camera: the user can close the camera when not in use, and not worry about the safety of confidential information. TPM 2.0 encrypts data and provides hardware authentication for an additional layer of security. You can additionally protect important information on the hard disk with a password.

A large number of ports allows you to seamlessly connect any peripheral devices to laptops. Laptops are equipped with two USB 3.1 ports, two – USB Type-C of the first and second generation, HDMI-out, RJ-45 connector, MicroSD card reader and audio output. Also on the laptop case there is a special slot for Kensington locks.
ThinkPad L490 and L590 are capable of working 12 hours on a single battery charge. The models support Rapid Charge technology, which provides high-speed charging: the battery can be charged up to 80% in one hour. The L-series business notebooks are lightweight, with the L490 weighing 1.69 kg and the L590 weighing 2.03 kg. The warranty is one year and, as with other Lenovo notebooks, the computer user does not void the warranty if any component is replaced. The laptops have passed 12 MIL-SPEC tests and are able to operate in the harshest conditions: from the sultry desert to the cold Siberian taiga.
A good companion for ThinkPad L series laptops is the Lenovo Essential Wireless Kit, which includes a wireless keyboard and mouse. In addition to Lenovo Essential Wireless, the ThinkPad USB-C Dock is available as an option. It takes up one USB Type-C port, but allows you to connect many additional devices. For convenient transportation of laptops, you can use the branded ThinkPad Professional 15.6 ”Backpack.
